One of our main concerns regarding temporarily relocating to Paris was finding an ideal apartment in a great location. After exhaustive research it became evident that the Halabis' had exactly what we were looking for.
We called their Champ de Mars II apartment "home" for ten months and it made all the difference in our year abroad. The attraction for us was its great location with close proximity to the Eiffel Tower. We considered the Champ de Mars to be the "backyard" we shared with the world. With easy access to the metro stop "Ecole
Militaire", a bus stop and taxi stand practically right outside our door, we were easily connected to the rest of the city. Being in a more residential area, we relished the calm at the end of the day. In late summer, enjoying a glass of wine on our balcony was pure bliss!
The apartment is spacious by French standards with a generous sized kitchen, large living room with a skylight and loft that affords a view of the Eiffel
Tower and two very comfortable bedrooms. Sleeping six or seven which was a regular weekend for us worked beautifully.
I could not be more grateful for the care and attention that Walid and his staff provided during our stay. Part of the appeal that prompted us to choose this apartment was the fact that the owners were residents of Paris and made us feel secure should complications arise. I would highly recommend renting any of the properties the Halabis own.

Last summer we stayed at the CDM2 apartment, a beautifully-kept and elegant apartment filled with light from the huge windows which opened onto the quiet Rue du Champ de Mars. We spent a lot of time leaning over the balcony watching the world go by, and became voyeurs into the world of the apartments across from us! We found the apartment to be ideal for our needs as a family of four... My young daughters slept on the sofa bed, and were fascinated by the arc of light coming from the top of the Eiffel Tower, visible from their bed! (In fact, if you sit on the gallery steps you can see the Tower clearly, especially magical at night).
The location could not have been more perfect -- a few minutes’ walk to the Champ de Mars park, where we dined sur l’herbe on many balmy evenings with the spectacular light show sparkling over the Eiffel Tower as our backdrop! Rue Cler market, a block away from the apartment, was the ideal place to buy wine, fabulous cheeses, fruit, bread and quiches and occasionally a peach tart or some macaroons from Fauchon... In the daytime we often took the girls across to one (or both) of the carousels in the park, or sat on one of the benches while they played in the playground. Lovely.
There are plenty of cafés and restaurants in the neighborhood, offering any kind of cuisine you could wish for (although being vegetarians this proved more of a challenge). The kitchen in the apartment... is more than adequate to allow one to prepare meals with all the lovely fresh ingredients available on Rue Cler. Sometimes, tired from a long day, we would buy ready-made dishes from the traiteurs, either Asian or Italian, and have a perfectly wonderful meal with the minimum of effort!
We were also close to bus and metro stops -- we tried to take advantage of the bus as often as possible, there is a Metro guide with bus routes in the back of the book, and many of the places we wanted to visit (eg. the Luxembourg Gardens) were on a direct route. Not to mention the ease of catching a cab on Ave. Bosquet or at the taxi rank at the Metro -- or for that matter, walking!
I would caution claustrophobes about the miniscule (and I mean it) elevator, two people at a time at a real squeeze, but personally I found the five flights of stairs to be the perfect antidote to the pastries I was eating every breakfast... Everything else was very comfortable, and when I had a family emergency back home that forced us to cut short our trip, Walid was solicitous and generous in helping me sort it out.
We very much look forward to another chance to return to Paris-

We stayed at the CDM2 apartment this summer (2005) and enjoyed it very much. I have done lots of traveling over the years and this was one of the better places. The apartment is clean, nicely appointed with good furniture and cooking supplies (large fridge, pots pans, plates and dishes) and lots of space. We were a group of 3 adults, 1 teenager, a 3 year old and a 9 month old and it was a great space for us.
The location is excellent. Rue Cler is a street with all kinds of food markets and take out/dine in restaurants. Just one block down Champ de Mar is an excellent bakery, half a block down from that is a grocery store and across from that is a cheese store with enough cheese types to keep you busy for years.
We mostly walked everywhere. The Eiffel Tower is right there and the park area surrounding it is great for kids. You can walk to the the Musée d'Orsay, Arc de Triumph and the Louvre with no problem. The area feels safe and I never felt uncomfortable or nervous even while walking out late at night.
Sam, the apartment manager, is also excellent and accommodating. If you give him a list of the initial groceries that you need he will have those ready and in the fridge for you when you arrive. Plus he also had some nice croissants there for us too. This type of service was not offered at any other apartment we have rented.
All in all, it was a great place.

We traveled to Paris with our 4 children (10 years old and younger) and this apartment was perfect for us! The apartment is very spacious. It is close to Rue Cler, where we could pick up delicacies and have relaxing dinners in the apartment. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby where we enjoyed some memorable meals. The location close to the Tour Eiffel meant that we could walk easily to see many of the attractions we wanted to show the children, and with the Metro and Batobus just a few blocks away, we could get anywhere we wanted without ever needing a taxi! At night, we could sit and watch the light show on the Tour Eiffel without ever leaving our comfortable "home." The apartment's full laundry facilities meant that we could pack light, which was a huge advantage. And we were even provided with a portacrib to accommodate our youngest child. This was a great place to stay in Paris, and we had a wonderful time.

This was the 7th apartment we rented in Paris and absolutely our favorite. It is truly - fully equipped. We could shop the lovely market on Rue Cler and cook a gourmet meal. Stroll over to the Eiffel Tower each evening. We easily had room for our son, his wife and grandson. We will be back.

I returned to Paris with family and friends to celebrate my 40th birthday and the most outstanding part of the trip was staying in the Champs de Mar apartment! It is beautiful, charming and in an ideal location! Those of my party that stayed in a hotel were rightfully jealous of the outstanding accomodations I had! It was wonderful to relax in a home away from home after a day of touring. Everything is convenient--food, metro and sights and the property management anticipated every need. The unanimous consensus of my entire party, all of which travel extensively, was that the best part of the vacation was staying at such a beautiful apartment and feeling like a true Parisian.

My friend and I stayed there for a week in May and loved it. The apartment is well laid out, the beds and furniture are comfortable and the kitchen is fabulous. We enjoyed the art and the beautiful use of the space. The building is beautiful and we really enjoyed the location - we'd never been to Paris before and Champ de Mars put us within walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see. We shopped on Rue Cler every day and ate everything. We made some of the little cafes our own and fell in love with foie gras (my hips and wallet grew and shrunk in direct proportion to that love!) I will stay in that apartment whenever I am in Paris and am looking forward to my next journey.

The apartment on the rue de Champ de Mars was just what we wanted for our two-week stay in Paris. As ex-Parisians, we wanted to feel a part of the city again--not just tourists. Our experience with this rental was perfect for us. It was spotless and had everything we could possibly need for our
stay. We enjoyed being in the apartment because it was full of light, quiet, had a great view, and had plenty of room for the four of us to coexist quite comfortably. Walid and Sam were pleasant and responsive to our needs (which were few), and clearly took pride in the apartment. The location was excellent: a very short walk to the Metro, the Eiffel Tower and the rue Cler markets, and great cafes and restaurants closeby. We would,
with no hesitation, recommend this apartment to anyone and we will most likely call again when planning our next Parisian vacation.

We had a marvellous week staying at Walid's Champ de Mars apartment. This was our best visit to Paris ever and the apartment played no small role in that. Far superior to a hotel. We felt part of the local neighbourhood (coffees and croissants at the local cafes.... one or two blocks and you had many to choose from...). The Metro was an easy 5 minute walk and took us all over Paris (recommend the weekly pass). Many sites, including the Eiffel Tower and Musee d'Orsay were an easy walk.
I can still remember our first night sitting in the living room with the doors wide open and the lights from the Eiffel Tower reminding us that we weren't in Kansas anymore.
A special word of thanks to Walid's apartment manager. He was very helpful. All in all, a fabulous experience. We look forward to returning.
